If you read L. Neil Smith's books and wondered . . .
. . . whether he made up the "Dardick" automatic revolver, here is the answer.
And with pictures of the "trounds" to boot!
And, no kidding, the thing is as ugly as can be. . .

And pictures of Dardick pistols, too, I might add!
I know very little about firearms other than the military ones I've trained on (Lee Enfield, Bren, Stirling SMG, FN C1A1, FN C2, and the Browning 9mm Hi-Power just about exhaust my repertoire). Civilian weaponry is even less part of my statistical universe: a couple of shotguns and a few hunting rifles sum it up. Oh, and once I got to play with a highly tuned S&W .357 Magnum: that was fun to shoot.
Well, in some respects that's true about me, too, in terms of civilian arms.
I do have (he noted modestly), a rather more robust knowledge of things military.
I'm a little jealous, though. I own two Brens, but they aren't shootable, so I have never shot a Bren, nor a Stirling.
You'll have to come visit the Castle someday. We can expand your shoulder-bruise source collection!
You know, that is a heck of an inducement to try to sneak back into your country! ;-)
