Contributed links for Friday

Jon (who really should be blogging) sent in these links:

Martina sent this one along as well: Stupid Comics. Scarily bad Canadian content from the 1970's.

And for you multitool fanatics, here's a doozy. Contributed by Pat M.

I'd noticed this on a few Google Earth viewings myself, but Edmonton seems to suffer worst from sudden seasonal dimorphism.

Ok about the tool...could it actually be used? Could you, for example, actually use the screwdriver or would the weight, size and other tools get in the way? And the biggest question of all to tool fanatics: Will this raise the tool comparisons to a whole new level? Or will the weight and size just get in the way? :-) Posted by: Da Wife at August 25, 2006 11:20 AM
Back before gigantism struck Victorinox and Wenger (the makers of the Swiss Army knives), I had one of the "Champion" knives. It was their "ultimate" knife, circa 1980. It was too big to comfortably sit in my pocket, so I had to buy a case for it. The case was a bit awkward, so instead of sitting on my belt (like my Treo does), it sat in a desk drawer for years. In contrast, I've had one of the smallest Swiss Army knives as my constant companion for over 25 years . . . you remember it? I almost lost it on your lawn one day. It's approximately 2.75 inches long, and has one knife blade, one nail file/slotted screwdriver blade, one pair of scissors, a toothpick, and a pair of tweezers. Not a wundertool, but very handy. About all I'd add to it would be a small pen and an LED light. Posted by: Nicholas at August 25, 2006 01:16 PM
